Simple Baked Potato Soup *Recipe*
This is the simplest way to make potato soup out there.
Besides opening a can of it ;)
Grab some left over mashed potatoes.
Did you grow up in a house that always had mashed potatoes?? I didn't. We were more of the ..... Hurry Curry Chicken folks! :) However, my kids are wildly picky and they love mashed so it's a staple around here.
Pour in some chicken stock (I used two cups.)
I like to use this when I don't have chicken stock in the carton.
Bring to a boil and then simmer until hot.
You can add more potatoes or stock according to the consistency you like.
Mine turned out like a medium thickness cream soup.
Ladle into bowls and top with your favourite baked potato toppings.
I chose sourcream, ground tri-colour pepper and old cheddar.
I definitely would've put some chives on if I'd had any.
So warm.
So fast.
So good.
I love to spend time in the kitchen but I don't always have that time so I love finding recipes like this one that taste great, and taste grown up, but I can still keep the lid on all of the goings-on in this house full of little people.
Here's how I look most days.
In the kitchen.
In an apron { I LOVE aprons}
No makeup.
Hair up.
Roots growing in.
Stickers on my face that I am NOT allowed to take off.
Life in the mom-lane ;)

The Gospel Story Bible *Review*
When I was a kid we had this gigantic, HEAVY, Bible storybook.
I LOVED it.
I think I loved that it was big and heavy because it looked like a grown-up book to me and I loved that it was a book for a little kid but it was SO big.
I was a girl who could easily get lost in a story and vividly saw the plot progressing in my mind as if I was watching a movie..or in the story myself.
Sometimes the pictures were a little weird and scary but it didn't deter me. I wanted someone to read it every night ~ and most nights we did.
I found, for me, that it really built a foundation in my little brain about values and it made the Bible a real and living book for me. One where I knew many of the stories and characters off by heart.
I think this may have been it...but it seemed a lot bigger and heavier in my memories ;)
I have wanted to find a book like this for awhile for my littles.
I knew I'd probably never find a copy of the original I had as a kid.
My kids also have not progressed to the point yet where their attention span for story telling lasts very long, especially when introducing new characters that aren't as familiar as ...oh I don't know...Lightning McQueen or Dora!!
So when I got approached to try this book out and give a review on it I signed up immediately.
The author is Marty Machowski a Family Life Pastor at Covenant Fellowship Church, a Sovereign Grace Ministries church in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, where he has served on the pastoral staff for more than twenty years. Marty leads Promise Kingdom, the children's ministry of Covenant Fellowship. He is the author of Long Story Short: Ten-Minute Devotions to Draw Your Family to God and the forthcoming Gospel Story Sunday school curriculum. He and his wife Lois and their six children reside in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
“The gospel is deep enough to keep the oldest and wisest parents learning and growing all their lives, yet simple enough to change the heart of the first grader who has just begun to read,” says Machowski. “That’s what makes The Gospel Story Bible ideal as a storybook for a preschooler, a devotional for a grade school student, a refresher for the adult believer or an introduction for the new one. Parents and children will learn together to read the whole Bible as one story, with one hero—Jesus Christ.”
I like this book because it IS presented in small digestable bits that you can go through every night before bedtime. I was prepared for a let-down with age aprropriateness for my kids because they ARE only 3 and 4 and although the claims are that it's geared for everyone from preschool right up to adulthood I had my doubts.
I was pleasantly surprised and a little excited that my kids were sooo into it! They want to read it every night and they fight over who gets to choose which story. They looovvveee it.
Just like I loved mine :)
The Gospel Story Bible retails for: $29.99 and can be bought here for $24.59.
Thank you to Audra and The B & B Media Group for sending me a copy.
This product was offered to me at no cost however, all reviews are solely the opinion of Dreams Diapers & Dilemmas.

Cinnamon Smile Bread *Recipe*
I made this the other day
I'm pretty sure the smile was not intentional ~ as in, I can't guarantee you'll get a cinnamony-smile if you make it ~ but I sliced it and couldn't help smiling myself :)
So cute.
So, really, what else could it be called but...
It's soooooo good.
SO GOOD.
Reminiscent of a coffee cake and similar in flavour to those Amish Sourdough mixtures that you leave on your counter and add stuff to every few days (do you know what I'm talking about or do you think I'm cuckoo right now??).
The big diff with this recipe is that it is SO SIMPLE!
Here's the recipe.
I got it from one of those church cookbooks ~ which PS ~ I'm in love with.
I got it at an apple festival in a small town in the Fall and I was enamored with the whole experience.
A small town church cookbook really topped off the experience for me.
LOVE.
I'll just say ~ I think you can use less sugar. I always do in every recipe and NEVER EVER miss it.
But that's just me.
~Linking up here~
Enjoyeux!!
